Beijing is the political, economic and cultural capital of China. It is the intellectual hub of the nation, with more universities than any other city in China. The Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven are reminders of China's 3000 years of history, while the modern skyscrapers and transportation are signs of its optimistic future.
