Program Overview

With a rich filmmaking tradition that includes Miloš Forman, Agnieszka Holland, Emir Kusturica, and Jan Sverák, Prague is an ideal place to produce a short 16-mm film or dig into a feature-length screenplay. And with magnificent art and architecture from every period at every turn, it’s impossible not to be inspired by these creations – and the stories behind them.

  • Get an inside look at Barrandov Film Studios – Hollywood of the East – and Hafan Animation Studio.

CIEE Film Studies Program in Prague, Czech Republic
From Miloš Forman and Agnieszka Holland, to Emir Kusturica and Jan Sverák – few countries boast a tradition of filmmaking as rich as the Czech Republic. And now it’s your turn to join it.

Through Czech language study, film theory and intensive student-led projects, the CIEE Film Studies study abroad program in Prague gives serious film students an exceptional international opportunity to hone their production and screenwriting skills through work and study with some of Europe’s leading film professionals.
