Program Description:
Made possible through a donation by Horton Inc., this $3,000 scholarship is awarded once a year.

Horton Inc., a donor to the Minnesota Private College Fund for 55 years, is a premium provider of engine cooling solutions worldwide. Located in Roseville, Minnesota, the company manufactures and markets fan drives, fans and related components in OEM applications and aftermarket segments globally. With 60 years of industry experience, Horton Inc. is committed to service, reliability, innovation and the environment. This new gift to establish the Horton Global Scholars Program makes Horton Inc. one of the Minnesota Private College Fund's largest donors.

  • Student must be a business related, informational technology, physical sciences or math major.
  • Study abroad program must be a semester long program.
  • Student must have demonstrated unmet financial need.
  • Student must be eligible to participate in campus study abroad programs (meaning they are at a minimum GPA requirement and don't have any holds on their record).
  • Student must submit a short essay describing how their program abroad fits with their personal, academic and career goals.
  • Student is required to write an exit essay about their experience and a thank you to Horton Inc.
