Manager, CGEE Semester & Summer Programs
Contact Margaret for: Students, parents and administrators for semester and summer programs through Augsburg CGEE, questions regarding academics, admissions, finances, course registration, travel and any other pre-departure issues.
Biography: Margaret earned a BA in History from the University of Minnesota. After working for the Guthrie Theater for 2½ years she joined the staff of CGEE in 1991. She has worked with customized programs and done study abroad advising, but her primary duties have involved the administration of CGEE semester and summer programs in Latin America, Southern Africa, Cuba, Norway and Switzerland: admissions, registration, billing, travel and visas, institutional relations, support for students and parents, and representing CGEE on other campuses and at professional conferences. She has presented nationally on topics such as families and study abroad, working with disabilities in international education, and how study abroad can contribute to peacemaking at home and abroad. She has also served on the Staff Senate, Peace Prize Forum Planning Committee, and Strategic Planning Commission at Augsburg. International travel includes: Mexico, Nicaragua, Namibia, England, Scotland and Canada. Margaret is proud of her 28 year history with CGEE, having had the privilege of contributing to the growth and transformation of thousands of students who have experienced CGEE programs, and seeing the many paths alumni have taken: from law to medicine, teaching, the Peace Corps, international NGO’s, social work and social justice advocacy. She enjoys working with other institutions of higher education around the country, keeping up with technology and other advances in the field of international education, and looks forward to the continuing globalization of the Augsburg campus.
